We’re proud to offer Diffraction Grating Glasses in a wide array of styles and linear gratings ranging from, 13,500 lines per inch, linear 500 lines per millimeter, and linear 1000 lines per millimeter.
The quality of the spectrum produced from our gratings is the sharpest possible with a minimum of distracting visual noise. Our gratings are the principal component in a spectroscope and are used for experiments pertaining to the study of light and color. Students can wear the diffraction grating glasses or teachers can project the spectrum using an overhead projector or 35mm slide projector for spectrum demonstration purposes, or use in conjunction with colored film gels for additive and subtractive color demonstrations.
Our diffraction grating glasses are even more illuminating when used in conjunction with our spectrum tubes. These truly awesome tubes turn the smallest molecules into a tremendously large spectacle thanks to an electric field applied between the electrodes at each end.
Other outfitters might only offer one or two types of spectrum tubes, but we’ve designed six different styles: Mercury Vapor, Argon Gas, Helium Gas, Nitrogen Gas, Neon Gas, and Hydrogen Gas.
